About the Lawyer and our Law Firm
Thank you for visiting my site. I am an attorney practicing in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. My family is my law firm. My wife is the accountant and office manager for our firm. And, our daughter (born in 1997) is excelling in home-school and is our assistant (sometimes). As a family-oriented firm, we concentrate on providing informal, family-style, personal service to our clients. I would be happy to discuss your case briefly and estimate my fees by telephone. I DO NOT CHARGE for your first phone call with me! If you leave me a message on my answering machine, I will return your call as soon as I can. My philosophy as an attorney is to help people resolve their cases in a way that protects their long-term best interests. Usually this means helping people cooperate to reach an agreement. Sometimes this means spending some extra time to make sure that a client's legal documents are prepared correctly. Sometimes it means avoiding a lengthy and damaging legal battle in the court system. Sometimes it means helping clients through negotiation, mediation, or Collaborative Law so that they can reach an agreement to resolve a dispute with dignity. I was born in 1962. My wife and I graduated from Paschal High School and then Texas Christian University (in Fort Worth, Texas). We were married in 1985. I graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1986. I then received my license to practice law from the Supreme Court of Texas a few months later in 1987. Except for an odd year or two, we have pretty much lived in Texas our whole lives. I am a licensed pilot, a qualified mediator, a graduate-school level mediation instructor, a guitar player, a YMCA volunteer, a solo-practice attorney, a collaborative lawyer, and a proud Daddy. - Mark W.
